Back for Round Two
Following the success of our inaugural event, the 3Ptag Queensland Schools Challenge is back in 2027 — bigger, more competitive and ready to welcome even more schools from across Queensland.
The 2027 QLD Schools Challenge will bring schools together for three days of fast-paced 3Ptag competition, with boys’ and girls’ competitions across five school-age divisions.
Whether your school is returning for another year or experiencing 3Ptag for the first time, the QLD Schools Challenge is an opportunity for students to compete, represent their school and experience a tournament environment built around teamwork, competition and fun.
Tournament Details
Dates: Monday 22 – Wednesday 24 March 2027
Location: Gold Coast / Beenleigh region
Proposed Venue: Bill Norris Reserve, Beenleigh
Additional Venue: Runaway Bay Sports Complex
Registration Opens: 6:00 pm AEST, Sunday 20 September 2026
The final venue arrangement will be confirmed once participating schools have provided their expected team numbers. This will allow us to determine the most suitable setup for the tournament and ensure the best possible experience for all schools involved.
Primary School Competition
The primary school competition for Years 3–6 will be played across the first two tournament days:
Monday 22 March – Tuesday 23 March 2027
The format and schedule for the high school competition will be confirmed once final team numbers have been finalised.
Competition Divisions
The tournament will feature boys’ and girls’ competitions across five divisions, subject to sufficient entries:

With divisions spanning primary and secondary school students, the QLD Schools Challenge provides an opportunity for schools to bring multiple teams and create a full school sporting experience.
To ensure schools that supported the inaugural event are recognised, returning schools that submit their registration form will receive first opportunity to enter the draw.
Once returning-school entries have been considered, remaining places will be offered on a first-in, first-served basis until tournament capacity is reached.
Registration must be completed by a school staff representative. Students and parents should speak with their relevant teacher, sports coordinator or school representative regarding participation.
Uniforms
Schools are welcome to compete in their own school-specific playing singlets or shirts, provided each garment has a clearly visible playing number on the back.
Existing suitable playing kits from other tournaments may also be used, provided they do not display another tournament's logo or branding. Schools with existing kit options are welcome to submit examples to the 3Ptag Administration Team for approval.
Official Uniform Partner
Struddys is the official 3Ptag uniform partner for the QLD Schools Challenge.
All competition shorts will be produced through Struddys to provide consistency across the event. The 3Ptag Administration Team will work directly with each school regarding shorts design and supply.
Schools that already have arrangements with another uniform manufacturer are welcome to advise us. Where custom shorts are produced through an existing supplier, we will ensure the Struddys logo is not displayed, respecting those existing partnerships.
The Struddys ordering portal will become available once teams have been confirmed.
Competition shorts: $35 + GST
Further information regarding sizing, design options, ordering and supply timelines will be provided to participating schools following registration.
Get Your Team Ready
Every participating school will receive a set of 3Ptag tags before the tournament. These can be used to introduce students to the game, familiarise teams with the tagging system and support training ahead of competition.
The QLD Schools Challenge is more than just a tournament — it is an opportunity for students to represent their school, compete against other schools and experience the unique atmosphere of 3Ptag.
After a strong first edition, Round Two is set to be bigger than ever.
